Early bicycle front hubs

These early hubs seen at the Trexlertown(old) bike swap. Notice the various ways spokes are attached to the hubs. Most of these are 1890s. 100 years later, these spoke systems were 'rediscovered' by companies like Mavic, Pulsar, and Shimano, to be used one boutique wheels they were building for elite cyclists.

1938-1939 Huffman made Firestone Twin Flex. Interesting dual suspension balloon tire bike. At this time in bicycle history, manufacturers were trying to make bicycles look and feel like motorcycles for children. These bicycles weighed 45lbs-50lbs and marketed to tweens and teenagers.
